David Zwirner is opening the UK's first solo exhibition of Polish artist Andrzej Wroblewski. Considered a leading figure in Polish post-war art, Wroblewski's short but prolific career encompassed painting, works on paper and prints, which often drew upon the country's sociopolitical atmosphere following World War II. His practice can be characterised by a unique blend of figuration and abstraction, which will be seen at David Zwirner through a wide-ranging selection of works on paper from throughout the artist's career, including depictions of the figure in varying states of group activity and isolation, geometric abstractions, and cosmological scenes. The exhibition will also feature a selection of key paintings, some of which have never been shown in the UK before.
