Programme Ludwig van Beethoven - 7 Variations for Cello and Piano on 'Bei Mannern, welche Liebe fuhlen' From Mozart's Magic Flute, WoO 46 Rachmaninov - Sonata for Cello and Piano in G minor Lento Allegro scherzando Andante Allegro mosso Performers Urska Horvat is a young Slovenian cellist. She is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes from national and international competitions: Music Club of London 2017, Concordia Foundation 2017, 1st prize at the Vera Kantrovitch Bach Competition 2015, 1st prize at the Soloists' Competition 2016, 1st prize at the Leonard Smith and Felicity Young Competition 2016, Wettbewerb fur Violoncello Liezen (Austria), Young International Janigro Competition (Croatia)... Urska has appeared in venues including the Wigmore Hall, St. Martin in the Fields, St. James's Piccadilly, Cadogan Hall, King's Place, Southbank Centre and Flagey (Belgium). Urska has been invited as a soloist and a chamber musician to participate in various festivals, such as Davos Festival (Switzerland), Les Sons Intensifs (Lessines, Belgium), Festival "Cote Cour, Cote Jardin" (Belgium), Virenze Concerts Series (Netherlands), Glasbena mladina Ljubljanska (Ljubljana, Slovenia) and Festival Lent (Maribor, Slovenia). In June 2016 she performed Dvorak's Cello Concerto at Cadogan Hall. She finished Postgraduate Artist Diploma in 2016 with Distinction and Director's Prize for Excellence in Strings under the guidance of internationally renowned cellist David Cohen. Francesca Fierro has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Argentina, Italy, Spain, Germany and United Kingdom. She made her debut at the age of 8 for an Argentinean TV program, aged 9 she took part in the Beethoven Sonatas Festival in Buenos Aires, and at 17 she made her orchestra debut with the Camerata Santa Cecilia in Buenos Aires. She played also with Berisso Youth Orchestra, La Plata Academic Orchestra of the Teatro Argentino, String Orchestra of Radio Nacional de Cordoba, and Senzaspine Orchestra of Bologna, among others. Francesca won the 2nd prize at the Mozart International Competition in Roma, the Magone Award in Bologna, the 2nd prize at the Scaramuzza International Competition in Crotone, 3rd prize at the International Competition of Osimo, 3rd prize at the Nuova Coppa Pianisti of Osimo and the 2nd prize at the Windsor International Piano competition. Thanks to the Beverley Creed Scholarship she finished Postgraduate Artist Diploma with distinction at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London under Gabriele Baldocci.
