"They want a Saint with a cowboy mouth." Ever had the dream of becoming a rock star? Ever imagined owning a stage like Mick Jagger or Bob Dylan and captivating an audience so much that they start to worship you? Have you ever wanted to be a tock and roll saviour? For Cavale, all she wants is to find that saviour; to discover the dream in someone who can save her through the power of rock and roll. She glimpses this dream in Slim, a man who looks the part in her mind. She tempts him away from his family in a bid to make him the saviour she has always dreamed of and to fulfill a promise to him to give him the life of a successful rock star. Will Slim live up to her expectations? Or will chasing the dream eventually become nothing more than a cycle of disappointment and misery? Written by Sam Shepard, CowboyMouth is a semi auto-biographical play which explores the dangers and thrills of chasing the performer,s dream. This play will be staged at the Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton from 16th-20th January 2018.
