Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra
Tam O'Shanter Op. 51
Oboe Concerto in D TrV292
Symphony No. 2
The YMSO returns to St John's Smith Square, opening with Arnold's Tam O'Shanter Overture, which leads to the Strauss Oboe Concerto featuring Steven Hudson as our soloist. The concert will finish with Rachmaninoff's triumphant Symphony No. 2.
Now in its 47th year, The Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1971 as a training organisation to bridge the gap between college life and the profession for orchestral musicians aged 18-25. YMSO's mission is to equip musicians with the tools required by their future employers, providing a platform for them to maintain and develop their skills. Our players come from all over the UK.
