This concert explores the virtuosic keyboard music of Bach and Handel - two great German composers who in their day enjoyed unrivalled reputations as master organ players. Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 is Bach at his most exuberant, bringing together impish flute and a mighty harpsichord solo. Meanwhile, with his Organ Concertos, Handel essentially invented a new form combining chamber organ and the instruments of the Baroque orchestra. Hear them performed by the expert period instrument players of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
