The Sealed Angel

The Choir of King's College London gives a rare performance of Rodion Shchedrin's The Sealed Angel, which sets Nikolai Leskov's tale of a rural community protecting its religious icon. Following the tradition of Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil, Shchedrin's choral textures range from consummate strength to gentle tenderness.

This concert will last around 1 hour without an interval.
