About

Delve into photography created on the fringes of society at the Barbican Art Gallery exhibition, Another Kind of Life: Photography on the Margins.

The exhibition celebrates those who boldly defy social conventions by bringing together the work of 20 photographers including Bruce Davidson, Mary Ellen Mark and Boris Mikhailov.

Through portraiture, documentary and street photography, this show explores themes of gender and sexuality, drugs, youth culture and minority groups around the world and invites us to consider our attitudes to alternative communities today.
