Get set for Christmas and the New Year with the London Museum of Water & Steam. Christmas is coming, and what better way to celebrate than joining us for our Winter at the Waterworks season. We've have a great programme of events designed to help you prepare for and enjoy the festivities. Join us at our special Christmas shopping weekend (25th-26th November) for a unique selection of gifts, the chance to meet our on-site artists and some seasonal fare from our cafe. Our railway and engines will also be in steam, with a special focus on one of our Cornish giants, the Bull Engine. For the weekend of 2nd- 3rd December, we're going back in time to the 1940s to celebrate a wartime waterworks Christmas. There may be a war on, but that's not going to dampen our spirits: follow our wartime family trail, enjoy Christmas crafts and climb to the top of our Tower to see the same view used by wartime fire watchers. The Museum will also be open later than usual until 7.30pm, when we'll be joined by Swing Patrol London who will really help us get the party started with their swing dance workshops. You'll also have the chance to ride our railway in the dark and tuck into some hearty wartime food. If you need to keep the excitement at bay on Christmas Eve, then come along to our Steam into Christmas weekend (23rd- 24th December) when families can ride the railway, enjoy some Christmas crafts and let off some pre-Christmas steam of their own. Our pumping engines will be in action, with a special focus on our oldest Cornish engine, the Boulton and Watt. And, finally, bring in the New Year at our Grand New Year Steam Up, a fantastic festival of steam over four days from 29th December - 1st January. We'll be running as many of our engines as possible, together with the Waterworks Railway. Our steam fire engine will also be on display. We look forward to celebrating a waterworks winter with you. Mince pie anyone? Keep up to date with our news and special events on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
