About

Throughout history, have some species been more associated with manliness or femininity? It's been long though that cats have been associated with females and the feminine, while dogs - "man's best friend" - have been thought of as male, and masculine. However, there is growing movement on men shrugging off shrugging of the stereotype that 'cats are for girls; and flaunting their affinity for kitties. But how does our relationship with pets such as cats and dogs relate to our gender identity and gender stereotypes? Join us to discuss whether it is OK to be a cat guy? Part of The Museum of Ordinary Animals events programme
