Following his acclaimed 2015 album 'Fables', We're Not Going Anywhere acts as Ramirez's resolute message against the U.S socio-political landscape in 2017, with Ramirez giving his compelling input into the political conversation with a dual heritage that points to America and Mexico. Politically informed and compassionate, We're Not Going Anywhere gives a message of promise and protest at a time when America is falling victim to what Ramirez terms "a spiral of fear". Merging Ramirez's rootsy husk with a bed of new influences taken from the sounds of Ramirez's childhood - the likes of The Cars, Devo and Tom Petty - he finds the prowess to flourish his sound, experimenting with guitars and new storytelling techniques. Ramirez, who has always been at the helm for production duties broke tradition by hiring a producer in the form of Sam Kassirer - also behind albums by Josh Ritter, Lake Street Dive, and Bhi Bhiman. Kassirer was integral to both the songwriting and production process, testing Ramirez to find new ways of telling stories, writing songs and ultimately honing his artistic craft.
