"Gorgeous machine pop bard" Jonnie Common returns to corrupt another file with crooked hooks and upturned phrases. The Stirling-based producer and performer once again teams up with Edinburgh's Song, by Toad Records to deliver some trademark wordplay.

Returning to the Tolbooth touring latest single 'Restless', Jonnie will be back with resident drumming sensation Peter Kelly (The Kills / Marnie [Ladytron]) ahead of next year's new album, recorded and mixed by Chvrches FOH engineer Paul Gallagher at Glenwood Studio, Glasgow.

Those who caught Jonnie's perfomance here back in 2015, or perhaps as part of the Stirling DIY Press Collective's secret show at Made In Stirling, will be familiar with his brand of dreamy electronic glitch-pop. Half-spoken verses are laced with equal measures of razor sharp wit and goofy every-day observations that would otherwise set you off giggling - if it wasn't for the lush ear-worm of a chorus that sweeps you up in its path, one finger pointed in the air doing a rubbish dance, before you get the chance.

As well as promoting the single and showcasing new material, the tour coincides with Jonnie's first television appearance. Having written the music for 'You Can't Go Back', a piece of theatre from poet and playwright Ross Sutherland, Jonnie is set to appear in it's broadcast on BBC 2 performing the score live.
