Minimalist rock band Interpol is touring with their eponymous album. The current line-up consists of Paul Banks, Sam Fogarino, Daniel Kessler and David Pajo, with previous member Greg Drudy leaving to pursue his own interests. It was in early 2010 that the group then lost bassist Carlos D. At the same time a number of their North American tour dates got cancelled. With new member David Pajo recruited, who has played with acts including Slint, Stereolab, Zwan, Dead Child, and Tortoise, and new tour dates planned the group are back on top and ready to go. Interpol have developed over the years an underground following since emerging from the New York indie scene in the early 2000s. Their career soon took off with their debut 2002 album Turn On The Bright Lights achieving critical acclaim, making NME's top 10 album list as well as achieving the top spot on Pitchfork Media's Top 50 Albums of 2002. The layout of the band is unconventional, forming a creative collective, with each member contributing songs and new ideas rather than having a chief member who does all the writing.
