Pandora's Box present an evening of music on Friday 24th of November at October Gallery, London. Pandora's Box is a trio of hidden delights, combining music of the late medieval and renaissance periods with contemporary composition, improvisation, poetry and physical theatre. Playing violin, trombones, sackbuts and even a bicycle frame, listen to the trio weave a subtle tapestry of words, vocals and music, poetry of love and intrigue from the courts, pilgrim routes, cloisters of medieval and renaissance Europe, to gritty modern sound worlds. Lift the lid and watch what flies out! The performance at October Gallery will celebrate music from the Chantilly Codex, by Hildegard Von Bingen, Benjamin Britten, John Kenny, Miguel Tantos, Emily White, Rachel Stott, Susumo Yoshida and will be inspired by the legion of anonymous poets, as well as the known: Petrarch, Chaucer, Shakespeare and Brian Nisbet. Since 2015, they have also developed a unique soprano, alto tenor & bass trombone quartet with Swedish virtuoso soprano trombone player Torbjorn Hultmark. Pandora's Box consists of esteemed musicians, John Kenny, Emily White and Miguel Tantos. They have performed throughout the UK and internationally, including the Edinburgh Festival, Galway Early Music Festival, Setubal Festival, Cumnock Tryst, and International Trombone Festival, California. The ensemble also features as recording artists on John Kenny's sound track to TNT Theatre Co.'s "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".
