Harlem Quartet at Royal College Of Music

Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall Harlem Quartet RCM Quartet in Residence Turina La oracion del torero op 34 Beethoven String Quartet in F major op 135 Webern Langsamer Satz Mendelssohn String Octet in E flat major op 20 Continuing its three-year residency, we're delighted to welcome back New York's Harlem Quartet. The ensemble performs Beethoven's last string quartet, composed in his final months when he was completely deaf, with Webern's quartet inspired by a hiking holiday in Austria. These are bookended by Turina's La oracion del torero, a Spanish folk piece originally written for lute quartet, and Mendelssohn's brilliant octet performed with RCM musicians. The Harlem Quartet Residency is generously supported by Victoria, Lady Robey OBE.
