Conquest at Camden People's Theatre

About

Conquest is a brand new play exploring the minefield of ethical sexual relations.

Meet Jo and Alice. Two very different women who deal with their ideas of feminism in very different ways. A chance meeting in a pharmacist in search of the morning after pill draws Alice into Jo's world of radical feminist activism running Conquest - a self-proclaimed revenge cupcake company. Alice isn't sure about the strategy - she wants to take it to a new level, to the top, all the way to the government.

With sexual education bills continually being turned out of parliament and women's rights never leaving the agenda, this is a timely piece reflecting on sexual consent and the inequalities women still face in the bedroom.

This script has been developed as part of the Soho Young Writers Lab and the project and creative team are being supported by Old Vic New Voices. Conquest is a part of The Shape Of Things To Come: two weeks of hot-off-the-press projects from CPT's favourite artists.
