London Metropolitan Brass were formed in 2016, with current students at the Royal Academy of Music, selected to represent the Academy in this newly-formed quintet. In 2017, the quintet won the Worshipful Company of Musicians Brass Ensembles Prize and are quickly become a well established chamber ensemble.

Emily Mitchell is a postgraduate who holds the Ian Fleming Award from Help Musicians UK. Emily won the King's College Concerto Competition, and has performed as a soloist with the Sainsbury Royal Academy Soloists. Emily has toured with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and taken part in the LSO Brass Academy and the London Sinfonietta Academy.

Tom Freeman-Attwood is a postgraduate scholar student. He became a member of the National Youth Orchestra after winning the Bang & Olufsen Schools Competition. Tom is a member of the Euorpean Brass Ensemble, the Britten-Pears Orchestra, and has played with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under John Wilson.

Ben Hulme is a third year undergraduate, and holds a Sir Elton John Scholarship. Prior to this he studied at chetham's School of Music and has performed concertos with the Buxton Musical Society and Chetham's Sinfonia. Ben also featured as a soloistfor BBC Radio 3's In Tune programme in January 2014.

Benny Vernon is a fourth year undergraduate scholarship student. He grew up in Somerset, studying at the Wells Cathedral School of music. Benny is principal trombone of the orchestra at the Endellion Opera Festival. He is also the recent recipient of the trombone division of the Malcolm Arnold Brass Prize.

Stuart Beard is a fourth year undergraduate studying under Patrick Harrild, principal tuba of the LSO. Stuart won the Malcolm Arnold Fantasies Competition in 2016 and has subsequently recorded the Fantasy for Tuba for CD release. he has also featured as a guest soloist with the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland.
