About

The ultimate 80s mix tape, entirely a cappella! Vocal harmony super-group The Magnets strip away the synths to honour the decade of big snares and bigger hair with their voices alone. Like Pitch Perfect with shoulder-pads, this fast paced nostalgia-fest of gobsmacking beatboxing, vocal gymnastics and heaven-sent harmonies is guaranteed to put a grin on your face and a six-part harmony in your heart.

The Magnets utilise the sheer versatility of a cappella performance to pay loving tribute to the neon decade and the music that inspired them. From Madonna to Madchester, New Romantics to NKOTB, they effortlessly switch scene with inventive choreography and lashings of audience engaging charm. Legendary beatboxer Hobbit knits the show together with his jaw-dropping tool-kit of vocal sound effects . Bass-hunk Duncan provides the rock solid vocal foundations and fully-chested solo highs. Top voices Callum, Mikey, Damion and Michael form an exquisite collage of vocal talent, from rich Scottish baritone to Jersey Boy falsetto.

Sonically stunning, spectacularly theatrical and utterly inclusive, The Magnets are a must see act on the international music scene with a reputation for outstanding festival appearances from the Adelaide Fringe to Glastonbury, introducing thousands to unaccompanied singing for the first time.
