Mirrors, written and performed by RADA graduate Siobhan McMillan, gained critical acclaim at the Fundamental Monodrama Festival in Luxembourg (2015), the Festival of Feminism at Camden People's Theatre (2015) and at a sell-out run at the Rosemary Branch Theatre (2016).

Mirrors is a black comedy, a modern fairytale, set in the bedroom (and inside the anxious mind) of Shy Girl, hopelessly waiting for her all-important date to turn up and give her validation. He never does. In her anger, humiliation and inevitable intoxication, she conjures up her alter ego, Shivvers, a wickedly evil witch and distant relative of Snow White's stepmother. Upon the grim realisation (from her usually affirming Mirror), that her beauty no longer reigns supreme, Shivvers embarks on a mission to track down her rival and destroy all who dare to be more gorgeous than she...

Mirrors is a provocative exploration of beauty, narcissism and neurosis. Siobhan McMillan draws us deep into her world with this remarkably physical, poetic, funny and poignant performance. From it we gain a moving insight into female angst and the neuroses that beset the modern woman, in a world where social media demands perfection and so often creates disconnection.
