SONGS ON FILM features a number of your popular favourites in a show of virtuosic musicianship, breath-taking theatricality and wit. After two sell-out years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and entertainer Joe Stilgoe finally takes his smash hit show on tour. SONGS ON FILM pays tribute to much-loved movies as self-confessed film buff Joe raids his own collection and adds his own original and stylish orchestrations to some of the most memorable moments in cinematic history. From Hollywood's golden age, to the classic films of the 80's, to the work of Tarantino, Tati, Paramount and Pixar, Joe and his remarkable band perform songs written for and inspired by some of the greatest films of the last century. Following a smash-hit run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, internationally acclaimed musician, performer and entertainer Joe Stilgoe has taken his show, Songs On Film, on tour. As heard on BBC Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night: Fabulous Films Of The Fifties, seen presenting at BBC's Young Musician Of The Year, and fresh from his stand-out performance at the 2016 Olivier Awards, Joe and his remarkable band are set to bring their tribute to 100 years of cinema across the UK. Beginning at the Bracknell South Hill Park Arts Centre on the 16th September, the tour will conclude at Leeds' City Varieties Music Hall on Saturday 18th February 2017. Songs On Film pays tribute to iconic soundtracks and as a self-confessed film buff; Joe adds his own innovative and stylish orchestrations to the most memorable moments in cinematic history. A collision of music, improvisation and comedy, Songs On Film takes you from Hollywood's golden age to the classic films of the 80s, through to the contemporary work of Tarantino, the Coen Brothers and Pixar, in a show of virtuosic musicianship, breath-taking theatricality and wit. Joe Stilgoe said: "It was a wonderful and humbling experience to perform at the Royal Opera House with past winners at the 2016 Olivier Awards.
