The Pasadena Roof Orchestra
Directed by Duncan Galloway
Performing year-round with a line-up of eleven top-flight musicians, this orchestra enjoys a world-wide reputation. From its first rehearsal in 1969 it quickly became a great success, recreating the nostalgic dance band sounds of the twenties and thirties.
The repertoire comprises over 200 titles of jazz, early swing and dance music including tunes such as 'Puttin on the Ritz', 'Sweet Georgia Brown', 'The Lullaby of Broadway' as well as hot numbers from the twenties such as Duke Ellingtons 'Black and Tan Fantasy' and beautiful numbers that were sung by Al Bowlly, and arranged to perfection by Ray Noble.
Musical skill, stylish presentation and sartorial elegance, coupled with a great sense of fun, guarantee an uplifting evening of happy music.
