Watch your favourite movies accompanied by live orchestral performances at Film Scores Live at the Royal Festival Hall at Southbank Centre.

Shining a light on some of cinema’s most unforgettable soundtracks, this year-long series features a wide range of films, from Oscar winners to modern cult classics.

Highlights include:

• Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi classic 2001: A Space Odyssey, featuring a live accompaniment from the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Philharmonia Voices (2 Oct)

• A Valentine’s Day screening of David Lean’s Brief Encounter, where the London Philharmonic Orchestra will be providing the romantic soundtrack (14 Feb)

• Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin, featuring a BAFTA-Award winning score performed by London Sinfonietta (4 Apr).

• The series concludes with an Alfred Hitchcock Weekend (23-25 Jun), when film screenings will include the London premiere of Vertigo; the film director’s early silent film The Lodger; and the cinematic masterpiece Psycho, with Bernard Herrmann’s spine-tingling score performed live by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
