The recently reunited Californian alternative rock group are drawing in their crowds once more with their distinctive music and performance style. The group disbanded in the late nineties but have recently reformed old ties to go on tour and rekindle some of their original success. In 1992 the group released their first commercial album Slanted And Enchanted, but was overshadowed by the success of English band The Fall whose music was of a similar style. Throughout the nineties however their following began to grow and they became one of the most successful bands of the decade going on to release four more studio albums. Fans never got the chance to see how things would pan out for Pavement, because after tempers within the group began to fray they dissolved their relationships and went their separate ways in 1999. Finally after years of whispers and rumblings in Rolling Stone magazine and on various American TV shows, the group are officially getting back together to join the thriving alternative music business. Ahead of their time in the nineties, Pavement should don their skinny jeans and slot neatly into the current indie rock scene.
