A grandes rasgos

Perfectly placed on the corner of Clerkenwell Green, The Crown Tavern brings timeless watering-hole hospitality to this buzzy urban postcode. Food menus feature seasonal dishes made using carefully sourced ingredients, while the drinks list spans from well-chosen world wines, to artisan soft drinks and an ever-changing list of craft beers. Take a seat with us and you could be sitting in the spot where Lenin and Stalin held a meeting in 1905, or in the distinctive golden "Apollo Room" which you may recognise from the British film "Notes on a Scandal".

Has been great at off-peak times but lunch service can be a little peculiar, often requiring one to simply help oneself to knives and forks that have just been forgotten and then the requests for them have also been lost. I'm told Fridays are worse. Still, would happily return. Más información

OK selection of drinks. Quite shabby interior, could use with a refresh. Pleasant service, but honestly prices are quite steep here compared to neighbouring pubs. Overall, pretty poor value for money... Más información

We came here for a friend's birthday drinks on a Friday evening right after Christmas. When I walked through the door, the place was quite warm and smelled of mulled wine. That's always a good sign (not that I had any mulled wine). Our friend's weren't in the downstairs part of the pub, but there is an upstairs room as well, and they had a table there, so that's where we spent most of the... Más información
