Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park
Overview
With the tranquillity of Hyde Park on one side and the sophistication of Knightsbridge on the other, the historic five-star Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park boasts London's most perfect location.
Having started life as a private Gentleman's Club in 1889, it was transformed in to London's newest and grandest hotel in 1908 and became home to many distinguished guests. Members of the Royal Family have always been frequent visitors here and even the Queen learned to dance within the glorious Ballroom. This magnificent hotel also boasts the only private Royal Entrance on to the park, and Winston Churchill lived here during the war – this is just some of the wonderful history this hotel has to offer.
Having completed a £50 million restoration, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park allows guests to be surrounded by luxury, whilst experiencing service and facilities that surpass even the highest of expectations.
All of the rooms and suites have been individually furnished and decorated in true Victorian style. Behind the exquisite materials and handcrafted finishes lies the latest technology. Breath-taking views over Hyde Park are offered from all of the sumptuous suites, along with a level of refined luxury that only something of uncompromising quality can achieve. Each of the rooms are lovingly prepared with Irish linen bed sheets, goose-down pillows, luxury designer bathroom products and fresh orchids.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental offers a haven of tranquillity in the heart of Knightsbridge. It is a place where East and West blend in harmony and drawing on exotic therapies and philosophies from around the world, a series of tailor-made treatments, known as rituals, are created exclusively for you. Guests are encouraged to arrive 40 minutes before their appointment so that they can immerse themselves within the philosophy of the spa and relax within the Amethyst crystal steam room, vitality pool, sanarium and zen relaxation room. There is also a state-of-the-art gymnasium.
With unrivalled views over Hyde Park, the hotel's award-winning restaurant, Foliage, draws its inspiration from the park. It combines striking contemporary design with modern European cuisine where the emphasis is on fresh seasonal ingredients. The Park, offering the same views, provides a vibrant and informal setting for light all-day dining, whilst the Mandarin Bar is the epicentre of Knightsbridge nightlife with a wide range of cocktails, exotic nibbles and live jazz music until 2am.
All of this, along with magnificent private meeting rooms, has made this hotel London's premier address.
