Kensington House Hotel, which opened in 2000, is situated just off Kensington High Street, only minutes from the underground, Earl's Court and Olympia and London's many famous shops and restaurants. The contemporary 41 room town house is a 'real find' for both the business and leisure traveller.
Offering its own modern brand of hospitality within an historical setting: the 4-storey stucco-fronted building has been restored to it's original 19th Century elegance. The staircase and balustrade have also been retained together with many of the ceiling mouldings. However, the rooms and Tiger Bar reflect a more fashionable, understated style with the emphasis on simplicity and light. Collections of 20th Century photography and modern British paintings have been carefully selected to complement the overall design.
Each room is a different shape and size, with either bath or shower and features include satellite TV, voicemail/modem, duvet, courtesy tray, in-room safe and ceiling fan. All rooms are light and airy, some with private balcony, high ceilings with practicality in mind, the interior designer was careful to the last detail, using simple lines to create a sense of understated style. Crisp linen and duvets, along with stylish modern furniture and light fittings add to the fresh, contemporary treatment of a classic design.
The Tiger Bar and Restaurant has been imaginatively designed to provide both a lounge serving morning coffee, afternoon tea and drinks and a dining area open for lunch and dinner. The adjoining terrace can also be used for small private functions.
Local attractions include Kensington Palace and Gardens, Victoria & Albert, Science and Natural History Museums, Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, and Serpentine Gallery.

We stayed with our 3-year old for a week, and we all got sick. The staff was unbelievably helpful and generous with us. Add to that the fantastic location, and I highly recommend this to anyone.more
I stayed at the Royal Gardens during my last business trip, but this time around I ended up staying at the Kensington House Hotel due to how last minute my trip was and the cost. The staff are very nice & the ambiance is very cute/quaint. I really liked this hotel over Royal Gardens as it's not your typical hotel. The only con I would have to mention is that the wifi is very slow and...more
I was lucky enough to stay here when I was in town for biz last March.
An absolutely sparkling clean gorgeous hotel with massive, comfy beds, flat screens, a small but useful gym, & Molton Brown toiletries. The staff was perfectly attentive and helpful and more than polite.
I like the hidden bar in back of the lobby (with pricey but boozy drinks) and the art gracing the walls made this space...more
Extremely well-located, this hotel is smack in the middle of Kensington in central London and at the southern border of Hyde Park. There are a few tube stops in close proximity, and buses galore right outside your door. On top of that, take a step outside, and you'll already be mere steps away from the shopping of High Street Kensington and a short hop away from Notting Hill and Hugh Grant's...more
The Tiger Bar which is located in Kensington House Hotel is the most ideal place to relax in after a hard day's work. Augmented by attentive and affable service, having a chilled glass of wine at the bar is well worth it. It's not that much more expensive than any other hotel-house red costing a fiver. They do have a well stocked bar and I suppose one of the benefits of being located in a posh...more
