Serving the world’s busiest international airport and carrying more than five million passengers per year, Heathrow Express is one of the most successful high-speed air-rail links in the world. The service carries more than 16,000 passengers a day on the 15 minute journey between Heathrow Airport and central London’s Paddington station.
Operating 150 services every day, Heathrow Express reaches Heathrow Central (Terminals 1 3) in only 15 minutes, with Terminal 5 a further 4 minutes. A free transfer service to Terminal 4 departs Heathrow Central every 15 minutes and arrives in only 4 minutes.

It's really hit if miss with this service as I sit stopped halfway to the airport. This should be relabelled the Heathrow Slow. No information forthcoming - ah the wonder of the Information Age. One trick with this service is to use your network rail card to get a discounted ticket but you have to go to the booth as the machines don't give you that option. Nice (not) if you're in a hurray and...more
I've taken the Heathrow Express many, many times. In my experience, the trains are always on time. Yes, there is the occasional service interruption where the trains run every 30 minutes instead of every 15 minutes, but that is always posted on signage all over the place - so plan accordingly.
If you are traveling to/from the airport to/from Paddington Station, this is the way to go. If you...more

Though I did get to participate in the stampede to the taxi stand with the...more
Reminder to self : avoid international travel the day after a Yelp event ... I haven't fully recovered from last night 's fun and everything seems to take a lot longer today.

Heathrow terminal 5 to Paddington is 20 minutes. About us$50 round trip. You can charge your phone on the train too.
It is expensive, but after a 12hr flight, I just want get to central London. Most people take a cab or the Underground from Paddington, so add that and it's £££. It's either 15min or 1hr+ of your time. It's all about convenience and time for me, so I don't mind shelling out...more
