I too actually liked this airport. We were in and out of security within 15 minutes. We were in Terminal 5 which primarily serves British Airways and Iberia flights. It was very busy once we got through security, but there were a good amount of shops and restaurants/cafes to try out. They even had a small Harrods...it was awesome! I actually have no problems with this airport. Once or twice I have been through here and there have been hoards of people creating unpleasant crowds but the past two times I have been through here have actually been rather nice and relaxing. And apparently there is this new terminal there that is fantastic and I haven't even seen that yet!

I actually had a pretty good time at this airport. I liked that the amenities were fantastic, the terminals were, for the most part, newer, and the whole experience was pretty high class despite it being one of the busiest airports and I heard connections are typically a mess.

Compared to most American airports, especially LAX, this is a very good airport. It has things to do in departure and if you plan your journey carefully, you can avoid most of the issues associated with an extremely busy airport. It's not perfect, and if there was a better alternative I'd take it. The problem is that Heathrow is the biggest and most convenient airportmore
