I've used this particular London Underground station on quite a few occasions as it's near a variety of places and people that I know ... a pub called The Ship Tavern, a restaurant called My Old Dutch Pancake House, a CS weekly event at The Square Pig and a couple of friend's offices.

You've got both the Central and Piccadilly lines located here deep under the city center.

Used to have to use this station to get to class.

As mentioned by the other solitary review, it connects the dark blue (Piccadilly) and red line (Central).

It's a bit maze like down there with switchbacks and escalators that take you into the depths!more

Where the Piccadilly Line (between Covent Garden and Russell Square) meets the Central Line (between Tottenham Court Road and Chancery Lane), you'll find this rather deep Underground station. It is the only interchange between these two lines, so the various transfer halls get very busy and I think they switch the center escalator to better serve the traffic flow.

I need to have a small rant about Holborn it is the closes station for me to work and I have not used it in over a year. It must win the prize for the most inconvenient, poorly planned and uncomfortable of stations!

In London one always needs to plan the transport factor in and sometimes the closeness of a station is overridden by how long it takes to get in and out or how convenient it is....more

Considering I don't actually go to places in Holborn a massive amount (or get busses when I do), it's surprising how much I see of this station. The first reason being I quite often change here for the Piccadilly Line out to Heathrow. It's nothing stunning really. It feels fairly deep (especially the Piccadilly), but reasonably well kept.
