The first station south of Paddington on the new "not a Circle" line, Bayswater has been around for a long while. It originally opened in 1868 and it seemingly hasn't changed much. It was good then, it's good now. The platform end still has a section where there is no roof - this was to allow the smoke and steam from those old trains to escape.

One of the prettier tube stations we were in. Nice architecture and natural light.. Yes, only 1 flight of stairs down, but would be nice to have an escalator when dragging heavy luggage up.more
What I like about this station is that you only go down a small flight of stairs to get to the tracks. It's basically ground-level. There's even some natural light, if memory serves.more
