I have to say that for being a fairly busy station it's a good station.. I only take the tube from here som times so can't judge the trains but normally not much kicking and scratching at the platforms as some other places so all good :)) But this is not just a train/tube station.. Big. Ugly. Convoluted. Replaced something lovely in the 60s. You'll go here if you have to. But that's about it.

A monument to bad 1960's British Rail modern architecture.

Positives:

- Large concourse.

- Plenty of places to pick up food and snacks for the train but mostly outside the station in the grim forecourt area.(Pret, cornish pasties, Cafe Nero).

- Fast and mostly reliable Virgin trains that speed you out of the city to the Northwest and Scotland.

Big but it has a lot on offer for the weary traveller, like a BodyShop and a Fat Face?!? Handy.

No bins though, which is not surprising for a busy London travel hub. But annoying when you have an apple butt in your hand. I guess all the big stations are the same in this regard.

No bins, no seats, it's massive so everyone can see the departures board which is the main thing.

It has a Pret so it is pretty good. The toilets are pay and I personally think this should be illegal. Are you seriously making a decent amount of money for 20p a visit? This is the height of corporate stingyness.more
