Clapham Junction Station
About Clapham Junction Station
South West Trains is a train station network running across the South West covering Reading, Plymouth, Portsmouth and London Waterloo. In the beginning Clapham Junction was a simple cross roads with an inn providing travellers with a rest stop and simple refreshments. After the arrival of the railway in 1839, the station formerly opened in 1863, with just a signal box. Over the years Clapham Junction has grown to be one of the country's busiest railway stations with over 2500 trains passing every day.
