Overview

For a slice of Upper-West-Side dining in leafy North London, look no further than the iconic Harry Morgan's restaurant on St John's Wood High Street. This shining beacon of Manhattan-ness is home to an eclectic crowd of homesick New Yorkers, models and actors working abroad on location, and a well-heeled expatriate contingent who come to salivate over the deli-style sandwiches and salads and talk shop. Established in 1948 by a local butcher, this acclaimed restaurant has become a dining destination in its own right, and is renowned for being great value for money. For "When Harry-met-Sally" style dates and buzzy lunches, this is the place to be. Don't miss the award-winning chicken soup.

I popped in here for a quick lunch after looking at the menu and the atmosphere--both looked good. people were eating outside and tables were filled inside as well. People were walking in with reservations, of which I had none-so I took a spot at the counter. The service was good and my warm chicken salad was delicious. The salad dressing was very tasty. If you are a fan of middle eastern...more

The egg salad sandwich on rye was very dry and tasteless. There was nothing on the bread and very little to bind the egg mixture so it all came tumbling out on to the plate. The cranberry juice was watery and tasteless, even the colour was off. When my companion told the waiter that the juice...more
