This funky diner and bar brings a taste of America's Deep South to Covent Garden. Spread over three floors of a converted warehouse, the interior is a mash-up of old-school Americana – think steel-topped tables and vintage Coca Cola signs. Among the specialities is smoky ‘beer can’ chicken, a whole chicken roasted over a can of beer.

We've tried the "Prison tray" menu item, which was huge and very satisfying. Good value for money too with the "come by rail" 2-for-1 offer. A large metal prison tray with pulled pork, baked beans, colesaw, rice and plenty of other items. The food wasn't perfect, but it was quite ok, and with the amount and price, 4 stars is well deserved. Good service too.more
I've never been upstairs for food, only downstairs in the basement for drinks. It's quite dark, as expected as its a basement cocktail bar. The decor is okay, with seating all around the edges and at the bar. They have an extensive cocktail menu which have some naughty names such as 'Doggy Style' or clever puns such as 'Rumdog Millionaire'. The prices are around £7-£10 a cocktail - standard...more
After a long day we gathered at Joe's Southern Kitchen with the Yelp team for a late dinner. I was happy to see they were still serving.
The place is quite big and nicely decorated. Nonetheless i was disappointed by the music volume as it was extremely loud for dinner. I had a hard time understanding any conversation at the table and that is simply not comfortable.

After a long day I think the team and I would have been happy with pretty much anything as long as it contained meat and alcohol, so by recommendation, off we waddled down the road to Joe's
Joe's was a confused, loud blur:
A. Because we were so far past exhaustion that we didn't really know what was going on.
B. Because the music was pretty damn loud! Not to coin my mothers phrase but, "I...more
Joes Southern Kitchen ad Bar is an American diner just between Soho and Covent Garden. After a long day working in London we were more than tempted by the thought of chicken, ribs and after looking at the menu chicken seasoned fries....any place adding chicken to more of the dishes than they need to can never be a bad thing in my opinion.
Upon our late arrival we were happy to see that they...more
