I love independent shops that are run by people with a passion for the stuff & services they sell.

They truly want to help you, are genuinely honest about what they can do for you and, if they can't help you, they'll direct you to another place where they think you'll get what you are after.

Sargent & Co is one of those places. Specialising in bike parts, vintage and other.

I'm finding the first review completely unfair.

I bought a bicycle from this shop last summer and runs perfectly.

Everytime I had a problem or a repair need the guy was really helpful and friendly.

If he says that he doesn't deal with aluminium, is he worth such bad review?

By the way, I love the tomato vines he grows behind the window during the summer and the sleepy cat watching the passer...more

In response to the previous review - no he doesn't do aluminum frame bikes - it's a bit like complaining you can't find tinned spam in an Italian delicatessen - he specialises in steel frame bikes.

It took a long time, but I was very very happy with the final results of a complete service and respray on my 1980's steel frame italian racing bike and would happily recommend Rob to anyone...more

Hmm, amazing what a second or third visit can do. When I first went he seemed on fine form, friendly, attentive and like a good resource for vintage bikes in London. Unfortunately this is only partially true. If you want to buy a complete vintage frame, complete with vintagey bits he is probably still a good place to go.
