We came here to meet some friends on Bonfire Night, and it was a warm and cozy respite from the torrential rain. A classic "old man pub," as my boyfriend calls them; no fancy cocktails, no TVs, no music, just ales, arrows and conversation with your mates. A proper pub - such a rare thing to find these days, especially in Clapham which is full of personality-free gastropubs. It's the kind of place that's full of locals, dropping in for a drink on their way home. Great atmosphere, log fire, no music and good drinks. Everything you can ask for from a pub.more
If you want a pint of bitter in a traditional olde English pub - this is the business. Great choice of ales and friendly staff. Very local - if you live in the area you'll meet someone you know down there.
Good space out the back for the summer as well.more
