Casa Brindisa
Overview
Casa Brindisa is a stylish Spanish tapas restaurant that brings a little taste of Spain to the museum-lined streets of South Kensington. Light and airy, but also with a terrace on the newly pedestrianised Exhibition Road where diners can watch the world go by, Casa Brindisa is the ideal spot for after work drinks, family suppers, business dates and romantic meals. The restaurant's menu includes traditional tapas dishes and specialities inspired by cuisine of Catalonia, the home of head chef Leo Rivera.

I love Casa Brindisa! I've been twice now, each time as a pre-or post-museum tapa break. Each time we've gone, the bf and I have Alhambra beers, some patatas bravas ( the best I've had, and the aioli is ridiculously good), cured tuna with pear and pan de pincel (grilled crusty bread with olive oil, lavender and salt). It's not the cheapest in the world, but it's no more than my local Spanish...more
The tapas here are really good. I grew up eating tapas, so I'm a pretty good judge. The croquetas are delicious! We always order them as well as the garlic shrimp, chourico, manchego cheese, octopus, and a few others. If you're hungry, order at least 4 or 5 tapas per person. I find the place a little expensive. Where I grew up, tapas are common & very affordable. However, here in London, I...more
Tasty tapas, but the portions are all wrong. Something you expect to get a decent size plate of (such as fish) is tiny, something you expect a smaller plate of (some salad items) you end up with too much.
Quality good, tastes are good.
Very overpriced for what you get (this is Kensington, though).more
Word to the wise: If you like olives at all, get the Gordal Olives with the mandarin oranges stuffed inside. Sounds weird, but so good.
Everything I've tried , with the exception of the burnt cream, has been amazing. Staff is always great and the wine list hasn't disappointed.more
Good quality but only the Gordal olives had the wow factor. Staples such as bread and olive oil reasonable but not exceptional. Overly expensive and portions on the small side especially the fish platter.
Ambience of restaurant all wrong; bright airy and modern when it should be exactly the opposite.
Four stars for food.
Minus one star for portion size and cost.
