Giant Robot (part bar / part diner) sits across from Modern Pantry (i.e. "global" food in a chic setting) and Zetter Townhouse (i.e. eclectic cocktail lounge in an old school British town house).
GR couldn't be more different than its neighbours.

Now that my second office location in Farringdon is a stone's throw away - I'll be going here much more often.
I've had lunch here twice now, and ordered the same thing twice. I think it's because I'm obssessed with butternut squash tortellini.
ANYWAY.
It's delicious, you must have it. Small version for lunch, large for dinner.

Because the restaurants within a 5 block radius were all closed and it started to rain, sadly not men, my friend and i ended up in here.
they get 2 stars for:
-being open at 5pm when no one else was
-having a "royal with cheese" homage to pulp fiction? methinks, yes.
-decent service
-filling portions
-great ambience and nice layout

For me Giant Robot is two separate places. There is the American Italian tapas style food. Which is fun particularly with a group and for the most part pretty good food. Really love the salad no.5; just delicious.
Then there is the bar which whem busy is just great fun. Good atmosphere and consistent great cocktails. Always good for a late(ish) stop by for some light bites and a Blood...more
