Ichi Sushi & Sahimi Bar
Park Plaza Westminster BridgeLondonSE1 7UT
Japanese themed afternoon tea? I'm in!
This lovely, chic restaurant is located in the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, tucked away near the main bar. We came for afternoon tea which was served on a sushi bridge- we had nigiri and maki sushi plus many, many, many cakes.
The sushi was seriously good and I only wish there had been more, I would love to come back to try the full menu.
The sushi is fresh but there are many other unpleasant stuff.. The restaurant is super cold. We told them many times to turn the AC down. Why would you even have the AC on, during January??I ordered, Mochi plate. It comes with 3 flavors, one of them is sesame. I don't like sesame. I wanted them to change it with some other flavor, they said that they can't break the box! Are you kidding me?...more
Overall a good setup, the sushi is good quality but nothing outstanding. Good if you're staying at the hotel. The portions are larger than most sushi places of the same level so be carful not to order too much. Good service in general and everyone freaked out because I asked for a doggy bag, was told only room service can deliver the left over food to the room.
Will I return ! Probably not...more
Booked afternoon tea with a friend as both were down in London. Easy to find in Park Plaza and a very intimate restaurant - I would advise booking ahead! I chose White Apricot tea, really lovely. The afternoon tea looked lovely - a nice selection of sushi, cakes and scones. Sushi was nice - not the best I've had but it was good. Cakes were delicious.
If anything, to keep with the unusual...more
First off, I've seen better sushi selection at bodegas and airports.
Second, although well-constructed and proportionate, it's just ok. not completely unfresh but not very fresh either. i do like the black sesame seeds/ chives on the outer part of the roll- nice touch but not enough to call this good sushi.
The edamame was terrible. And it's all overpriced.
