Okay so full disclosure, I am a pretty big snob when it comes to Mexican food. I lived in Southern California for a while and maintain that greasy, cheese-covered, no-English-spoken, hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants will always taste so much better than TexMex or "fancy" Mexican. After living in DC for five years I resigned myself to the fact that the East Coast of the US has no good...more
I am a big fan of Cantina Laredo. As a global chain restaurant, they do a great job, and I have eaten at their locations around the world. My rating, however, is based on the attitude of their staff on the night of January 22, 2015.
While their Google information says that the restaurant is open until 11:30 pm, their web site has an asterisk that indicates they actually close 1.5 hours...more
Good high end Mexican food. I think the food is quite solid here, well made with fresh ingredients. The service attentive. But you certainly pay a premium for the experience here. I recommend it if you want some Mexican and you're willing to spend a bit, but I'm sure you can better value for money in London (though perhaps not in this part of town).
A decent meal for two with a couple drinks...more
£10 Margaritas. £6 tiny ceviche
£10 for three (boring) tacos. Ok I was spoilt living in Chicago, but there has to be MUCH better Mexican restos in Londonmore
This place is legit. I kept hearing that there is no good Mexican in London. After a friend from Texas pointed me in the right direction, I discovered even better -- TexMex!
The guacamole is fresh and made at the table -- go spicy (it's not really spicy). The carnitas tacos were three tiny tacos on corn tortillas and perfectly cooked. And they even have Micheladas (Pacifico is best!)
