I had dinner at la Cantina last week, on the recommendation from a friend who took me there and we sat down for dinner early on a weekday. The staff was lovely, efficient and explaining everything in case we had any questions. Because it was early we could avail of the early bird menu: 20£ for 2 courses or 25£ for 3 courses. Reasonable value for money in that part of London. We shared a...more
It is with great sadness that I'm updating my Cantina Lareda review to just 2 stars. They've changed their menu, and not for the better.
Everything is smaller but more expensive. Frankly the portion size is laughable. This includes the table side guacamole, the shrimp skewers, and the Seabass. Honestly, I was just appalled at how little good you get.

Pushy and unhelpful service, overpriced, variable quality food -- some amazing, some underwhelming.
Had a strange experience with the service. The waiter was pushy in saying that we should order more and more things, without listening to our preferences. 'Are you sure you don't want a small plate too?' 'You should also order rice.' (We don't want rice.) 'Here this rice dish is good.'...more
Really good mexican food. Not tex mex either. The best dish had to be the guacamole which is made right on your table. All the dishes tested extremely fresh and whilst the food is quite expensive, it's definitely worth it.
Interior was pleasant and clean and the staff very helpful in explaining all the dishes. The prawns wrapped in bacon were the standout dish for me.more
