I totally want to love this place but I just can't. My husband, however, loves it. I've now been twice. The first time I ordered a slice of the chocolate cake. A very London-style artisan boulangerie/cafe.

The soup is amazing. I ordered the mushroom soup. It's REAL mushroom soup - freshly pressed mushroom, with mushroom pieces.

Foodstuff - sandwiches, cakes and pastries are beautifully displayed.

New concept to open soon, gails

They even have a massive kitchen on the back, so I clearly need to come back. I don't think I will be disappointed.

Much nicer place for a brunch/breakfast...more

Gail's, I was a sceptic, now I'm a believer. I was a sceptic, I guess, because of the Yummy Mummy clientele that Gail's appears to have. And the rather posh choice of ingredients. Together, I thought these would add up to overpriced and so-so produce. I must apologise, for I was wrong.

The first sign of this came with a poppy-seeded bun I had with chicken and some kind of pesto-ey froth type...more
