Overview

Exmouth Market is a bustling strip of restaurants and cafés between Clerkenwell and Finsbury which is only minutes away from Farringdon tube station. Popular with the local media set and locals who linger over dinner in the evenings, Cinnamon Tree is a brand new Indian restaurant that has opened to rave reviews. With a delicately spiced cuisine and a modern interior, this restaurant is close to all the local bars and is a great meeting point for nights out. The tandoori king prawn masala – grilled prawns cooked in a creamy almond and coconut sauce - is our pick but we also love the lamb rogon josh and the chicken saag cooked with spinach and spices.

It has been nearly two months since I visited Cinnamon Tree and I'm still fantasizing about it...*sigh* we just don't have Indian restaurants of this caliber where I come from (southern US). I took myself on a date here late one night - they're open til midnight (a plus in itself) and I think I got there around 11pm. I rarely give 5 stars, but my experience was literally flawless.

In my past 2 trips to London, this was my 3rd Indian restaurant and was easily the best (and one of the 3 I've been to was Amaya). I think I liked this so much because it is authentic. I had the chicken lunch special which came with a lot and was a great deal at 8 pounds. During lunch time, they also had take-away service in front of the restaurant for 5 pounds which seemed like a great...more
