Playlounge is a cool little store that caters to collectors of designer vinyl toys (KidRobot, Dunny, etc.), Japanese plushies (like Totoro, Miffy and Gloomy Bears) and lots of great children's books (The Story of the Little Mole Who Knew it Was None of His Business - get the plop up edition!).

So glad I got to visit Playlounge on my visit; I have been a fan since several years ago when a friend was able to get me a Mr. Clement lapin with his bubblegum mimicking the Playlounge logo. Japanese toys have definitely found a home in this great busy and full of surprises store. It is a space where design, art and illustration fuse with toy culture, providing an environment where everyone can play - regardless of age or gender.

This is definitely the place to go when you are looking for a special gift for the kids and shows that you have put some more thought into it as opposed to making a beeline for Hamleys.
