Fancy food and beer in a bank vault? That's what the Belgo in Holborn is offering as a converted former Lloyds bank, with the bank vault having been transformed into a Belgian beer cellar! Despite the building's history, the decor is contemporary and relaxing, but it's the beer list which is truly eye-catching, with over 250 beverages to choose from. The food is typically Belgian, offering treats such as Belgian Sausages, mussels and frites with mayonnaise, and a wide range of meat and vegetarian dishes. There are many fantastic, money-saving special offers throughout the year, but with even a three-course meal served at a reasonable price, this is one gastronomic experience that won't break the bank - even if it's in one.

I miss the old Belgos menu. It seems more 'Americanised ', now, with burgers and barbecue sauces, also the menu on the mussels had changed offering a more Asian influence on the pot of mussels menu.
to tell you the truth I was confused by the Menu and a little disappointed but what I had, the half Lobster, was clean fresh and nice enough.

After a heavy night of drinking and a late start to the day, we came to Belgo for some chicken, chips, prawns, and mussels! The service was friendly and the food was good and decently priced. I may make this place a ritual for hangover dining!more
Nice venue, they have quite a big selection of Belgian beers (with traditional glasses of course) including the famous Kwak. But, the beers are a bit on the pricey side. Saying that, I would go back. If you're a fan of mussels, they also serve 'moules et frittes'.more
Went there with a small group and had a lovely time! We sat outside as it was a nice evening and that made the experience all the better! Most of us had the mussels, I was feeling adventurous and tried the Thai version which was very tasty! Just spicy enough and well seasoned. They had a wide choice of beers and the waitress knew just what to recommend as I normally only like dark beers,...more
I've not been to Belgo in a while, as it is a very touristy place, but on this occasion I was pleasantly surprised. While the menu is not very adventurous with the usual suspects, they still do a very good kilo pot of mussels and chips. And at not too bad a price either.
Will I go back? Probably not as there's so much more exciting food in London. But if I have tourists or need to choose a...more
