Another place for which I neglected to write a review after we visited in 7/11. The gardens are a pleasant refuge - filled with some nice statuary - and not overly-crowded on a weekday. As others have mentioned, seating isn't very plentiful.more
That peaceful place is hidden between the Temple and the Embankment Tube.
Gardens are a little oasis of freedom where you can enjoy your life without any rush, absolutely forget about tourists that are making huge crowds at Trafalgar Square and in Covent Garden which are close by.
But be aware of small amount of benches around, so hopefully U'll be lucky enough to grab a seat without having...more

All around, you will find people hurrying, scurrying, pointing, searching on maps, taking photographs, scoffing, keeping families together and a thousand other things. There will be the rumble of trains leaving Charing Cross Station to cross Hungerford...more
Tourists and suits all converge here, in this bit of grass, to get away from the craziness of their days. Not many places to really sit comfortably, but if you look carefully you'll find a bench or a low wall where you can perch for a rest or to eat your packed lunch. If you didn't bring lunch, several great spots are nearby and would be happy to exchange something yummy for some colorful bits...more
