Princess of Wales

150 years young, The Princess of Wales pub in leafy Primrose Hill has recently been lovingly renovated, re-establishing itself as a warm and welcoming local with great British pub food, quality drinks and laid-back atmosphere. Set over three floors that include an elegant first floor dining room, lower-ground bar and event space and the ‘Banksy beer garden’ (named after a mysterious lion stencil that appeared in 2011), it’s got something for all, be it a Friday night Rhubarb Royale cocktail, Dry cured bacon breakfast bap or a pint and Mrs King’s Pork Pie n’ Piccalilli. Keeping within the style of the pub and its heritage a wide selection of predominantly British spirits are served including Chase, Hendricks and Sipsmiths served with the classic ‘ice and a slice’ or in a selection of tasty cocktails. A thoughtfully chosen wine list includes Chapel Down wines from Kent alongside Champagne, Prosecco, cask ales, organic ciders and good ol’ London Pride.

Came here with friends and had the most amazing burger and pulled pork. Onion rings are amazing and the beer is nice and cold. Also cannot say enough about the staff. They are extremely nice and accommodating.more

Airy, open pub in a great location. Go for a stroll to Primrose Hill after a pint at Princess of Wales. Book if you can!

The food is solid pub food. We especially liked the Thai Beef Salad and the extensive selection of wine. Selection of beers on tap was solid too.more

The Princess wins as my favorite cozy pub to be in.

I returned to London September 2014 and the Princess is still my favorite pub to dine in around Camden/Primrose Hill.

I always recommend making a booking for a Sunday Roast-especially here.

They have such lovely composed salads and their soups are really wonderful.

The bread that accompanies is "healthy looking" sight on seen but really...more

I've been switching between a 4 and 5 star rating for this place. It's hard to fault the place, but I also wouldn't say it's "as good as it gets".

So, here's the thing, I like the Princess of Wales. It's a beautiful venue. Slap, bang between Chalk Farm and Regent's Park. Big Windows looking out onto the beautiful wide streets and architecture of the area.

The place has a nice relaxing atmosphere. A great selection of beers, ciders and wines.

The food is reasonably priced and delicious. I had the Potato roti with mixed roasted...more
