Hix on Brewer Street in Soho is the second London restaurant from Mark Hix, whose other establishments include Hix Oyster & Chop House in London's Smithfield's Market and Hix Oyster & Fish House in Lyme Regis.

Hix restaurant is situated on the ground floor of the site previously occupied by Aaya, and is adorned with exclusive pieces of art from the likes of Damien Hirst, Tim Noble and Sue Webster. With the capacity to seat around 80 diners, the restaurant serves the signature British cuisine that Mark Hix is renowned for. The exquisite dishes on the menu include Grilled Orkney Lobster with garlic butter and chips, Roe Deer Chop with celeriac mash, and Aberdeenshire Porterhouse Steak for two to share.

Meanwhile, Mark's Bar in the basement offers a more informal, clubby vibe and serves smaller British dishes for you to enjoy. Come and see why this has been named as the 'best bar in London' by Time Out.

Having always planned to open a West End restaurant, Mark Hix has designed Hix in Soho to be a truly British dining destination and will continue to support the great British producers that he has worked with to ensure that you enjoy the highest quality cuisine.

After so much hype and fuss. This is my conclusion :-

- a bi polar waiter, one minute nice as pie the next a growling wolf. Is that a hipster trait?

- steak tartar, I'm sure this was just tesco value mince

- the fish was tasty but served cold

Being typically English we didn't complain on the night, we should of done.more

I really liked the decor and atmosphere at the Hix cocktail bar - it's quite elegant but not stuffy, buzzing yet relaxed. Good for a date or drinks with your friends.

Service was not quick because there were only two wait staff for the whole floor - this is really not acceptable - not so much for the customers but for the staff who must have been seriously stressed.

There is a ridiculous...more
