I've come to this pub for many a work lunch due to it being only about a ten minute walk and I'm sure on a weekday this type of clientele makes up most of the customers.

Used to live right accross the road (no 40) from the pub and considered it a second home.

The drinks and amtmosphere are spot on for a nice quiet pub which fills up mainly on the weekends for local workers.

Downstairs the thi food is brilliant. Not sure about the previous review but the food is authentic and spicy. the variety will mean you cant go wrong with whatever you choose.

A very unique pub when many of the pubs in London are all the same now. I love the laid back atmosphere and being able to venture downstairs for some yummy thai food. The decor downstairs is also awesome- I would love to have a private party there!!more

It's your typical English pub but its got a staff serving Thai food. I was once told that if Thai food has red peppers in it, it isn't real Thai food - that pretty much says it all. The green curry I had was satisfying but not something I would need to try again.more

It took me awhile to get used to the notion that what looks like a traditional English pub on the outside can serve delicious Thai food on the inside. Talk about not judging a book by its cover, the Hobgoblin is the perfect hybrid between the two; in fact, the bar is run separately from the restaurant, and the set-up works perfectly.
