A wonderful Italian restaurant beloved by the locals of London’s residential Balham area, Caminata serves authentic food in a cosy, atmospheric dining room. Generally bustling with a varied crowd that very much reflects Balham’s own diversity, Caminata offers a relaxed, friendly vibe perfectly complemented by efficient but unhurried and warm service. Part rustic farmhouse, part funky loft, Caminata’s interior is quite simply fabulous with its exposed duct work, rough stone walls and contemporary furnishings in sleek monochrome. Equally the Caminata menu walks a line between the bucolic and the urban, combining traditional rustic pizzas, traditionally made, with sophisticated pasta dishes and salads and a well edited selection of meat and fish dishes too.

This place is awesome. The food is fantastic, the staff are attentive, friendly and helpful and it is excellent value for money. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The pizza here is the best I have had in a very long time. Generous & really tasty toppings and a thin crispy delicious base. If you like pizza you have got to give this place a go.

Caminata is a great little local Pizzeria on Bedford Hill with a great selection of stone baked pizzas. We often drop by here for takeout, as they have a pretty good deal for Pizzas (£6). Have also dined in, service was good, staff were friendly, lovely atmosphere; a welcome change from other restaurants nearby.more
A great Italian restaurant which is just aorund the corner from Balham station! Its a small place so gets filled up quickly but the food there is amazing.
The fritto misto for starters was great crispy fried whitebait and calamari and prawn with a light batter and cooked just right and not too oily.
The mains, my duck pappardelle pasta had the most amazing sauce, bursting with flavour but...more
The star for this place goes to the staff who are really friendly and the decent house red wine. Other than that food is horrendous and I would definitely not recommend anyone go here.
Pizzas are boring and just not tasty. The frito misto starter is appalling. And the garlic bread (more just garlic sauceless pizza) has nothing to offer.more
Bit of a weird place. Decent food (pizzas and salads mainly), friendly staff, free Wifi, and some nice Peroni on draught. Despite this there is something decidedly odd about the place. The fact that it seems to open and close at random, has a mixture of odd locals, slightly dangerous looking Eastern Europeans, and lost looking trustafarians all add to the sense of confusion. It's a pretty...more
