Snapping at the heels of the award-winning Souk Bazaar comes Samir Mahdi's latest restaurant, the three-floor North African oasis of Souk Medina. Located in the centre of Covent Garden, the downstairs restaurant specialises in delicious tagines and couscous, all served up at affordable prices to a laid-back crowd. Low-level seating, candles and belly dancers add to the romantic kasbah atmosphere.

I have visited Souk Meidna many times but the portion sizes are getting ridiculous. I like the food but with the chicken skewers there is practically nothing on the plate. It is supposed to be a main yet it is tiny. Plus the salad with it is tiny what a waste. They used to give a good portion. They need to give two skewers and add more salad and veg. Will not be getting that again.more

My grilled sea bass was over grilled and it was dry. I ordered a fresh mixed fruit smoothies, which wasn't freshly made as it came from a bottle.
3 stars for the decor as it was the...more
Very much a Moroccan hideout in the centre of London, Souk Medina is certainly an intriguing place to eat. Stepping into this restaurant feels like entering an exotic maze as there is noone beckoning you in or ushering you to a seat but instead there are many nooks and crannies in which you can lounge at leisure and many exits or entrances to escape or emerge from.
The food is wholesome;...more
