The Thameside setting of the Michelin star awarded The River Cafe sets the laid-back tone for this legendary restaurant with its blend of sleek modern décor and accomplished Italian cooking. Tucked away from the urban bustle of Hammersmith, the white-walled interior has a clean, breezy charm, with bistro-style metal seating, blue accents and a busy open kitchen. Menus change twice daily, offering simple, well-executed dishes such as seasonal game, hand-made pasta and seafood plus an all-Italian wine list. Chic outside seating round the clipped lawn provides sunny al fresco dining.

Sigh... What's to say? It's the most wonderful restaurant. The service is delightful, completely professional yet casual. The tables are close together, yet allows for a feeling of intimacy. It's loud and buzzy with lots of staff on the floor, yet you're never rushed and feel as if you're in your own private bubble. There are high flyers and celebrities, yet it feels like a local spot just for...more
Oh my. What a night. There is literally no word to describe my love for italian food...and there is no word to describe our experience on the terrace of The River Cafe last Saturday night. Oh well, I'll still try. But in fairness, (spoiler alert) book a table here...one always find something to celebrate no?

The location is a little far out from central London, and hard to find. We had a 7:15 reservation, but almost wish it was a little earlier. Within 30 minutes, this place was packed! It became very loud, and...more
